I want to give you some informations about this pattern ;
What you need:
– 3mm or C/2 crochet hook
– DK cotton yarn
o Green(40g), yellow, black, white, red(20g)
– Drops Alpaca Boucle – off white
– Polyester stuffing
– Tapestry needle
– String for hanging the ornament
Tips:
– The Grinch is crocheted in rounds, do not slip into last stitch of previous round but continue crocheting into first stitch
– Final size of the Grinch head will be 6×11 cm with a bent hat.
– Stuff head firmly. Do not stuff hat.
– Crochet as tight as you can and have fun!
Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sc -single crochet
dc -double crochet
inc -increase: 2 sc into next st
tr – treble crochet
dec – decrease: sc 2 together
st(s) – stitch(es)
* – repeat
Head:
Use color Green.
Round 1 6 sc into magic ring (6sts)
Round 2 inc around (12sts)
Round 3 1 sc, inc repeat around (18sts)
Round 4 2 sc, inc repeat around (24sts)
Round 5 3 sc, inc repeat around (30sts)
Round 6 4 sc, inc repeat around (36sts)
Round 7 5 sc, inc repeat around (42sts)
Round 8 6 sc, inc repeat around (48sts)
Round 9-14 1 sc into each st around
Round 15 4sc, dec repeat around (40sts)
Round 16 3sc, dec repeat around (32sts)
Round 17-19 1 sc into each st around
Round 20 2sc, dec repeat around (24sts)
Round 21-22 1 sc into each st around
Round 23 1sc, dec repeat around (16sts)
Stuff head.
Round 24 1 sc into each st around
Round 25 dec around (8sts)
Finish with a sl st.
Fasten off, pick up all front loops with tapestry
needle and pull tight to close.
Eyes:
Left eye:
Use color Yellow.
Row 1 ch 6, turn
Row 2 sl1 into second ch from hook, sc1, dc1,tr1, dc1, sl into same st.
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing.
Left eyelid:
Use color Black.
Sl st into eyes first row (6 ch), ch 2, fasten off leaving tail for sewing. (8sts)
Right eye:
Use color Yellow.
Row 1 ch 6, turn
Row 2 dc1 into second ch from hook, tr1, dc1,sc1, sl into first ch.
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing.
Right eyelid:
Use color Black.
Ch 2, sl st into eyes first row (6 ch), fasten off leaving tail for sewing. (8sts)
Hat:
Use color Red.
Round 1 3 sc into magic ring (3sts)
Round 2 inc around (6sts)
Round 3 1 sc, inc repeat around (9sts)
Round 4 1 sc into each st around
Round 5 2 sc, inc repeat around (12sts)
Round 6-7 1 sc into each st around
Round 8 3 sc, inc repeat around (15sts)
Round 9-11 1 sc into each st around
Round 12 4 sc, inc repeat around (18sts)
Round 12-14 1 sc into each st around
Round 15 5 sc, inc repeat around (21sts)
Round 16-17 1 sc into each st around
Round 18 5 sc, inc repeat around (24sts)

Change to color white using 1 string of cotton and 1 string of alpaca yarn.
Round 28 1 dc into each st around
Fasten off, leaving a long tail of cotton yarn for sewing hat onto head.
Pompom:
Use white alpaca yarn.
Round 1 8 dc into magic ring (8sts)
Round 2 dec around (4sts)
Fasten off leaving tail for sewing, pick up all front loops with tapestry needle and pull tight to close.
Assembly:
Eyes:
Using black cotton yarn, embroider black of eye onto tr crochet of yellow of eyes.
Sew eyes onto head using the black yarn at the eyelash and yellow at the eyes.
Eyes bottom is at Round 15, top of eyelash is at Round 20, with 2 sts between at the bottom and 10 sts on top.
Embroider messy eyebrows. Don’t try to make tem perfect.
Dimple:
Bring yellow yarn to the bottom of the eye on each side and push through head to Round 23, 1 sc apart, tie together
and pull to create dimple on face.
Nose and mouth:
Embroider nose and mouth.
Nose is 1 round under the eyes, bottom of mouth is between Round 7 and 8.
Do not worry about symmetry of mouth, making it not perfect makes it perfect.
Hat:
Sew pompom onto top of hat.
Using red yarn end in the back, bend hat to side as shown on picture and sew round 5 and 15 together with red yarn
on right corner.
Turn white edge up onto the hat, sew hat onto head using the white cotton yarn
