Head and body are made in one piece starting from top of head.
Antlers, ears, muzzle, arms, legs and braces are sewn to the body.

Main part

2-8th round Sc (dc) around. | 6 sts
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.
Short pieces (make 4)
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn B, make an adjustable ring.
1st round 6 sc (dc) in ring. | 6 sts
2-3rd round Sc (dc) around. | 6 sts
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing both short pieces on to main part of each antler.

EARS (MAKE 2)
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A, make an adjustable ring.

1st round 6 sc (dc) in ring. | 6 sts
2nd round Inc 6 times. | 12 sts
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Fold circle in half and with tapestry needle make a couple of stitches to keep shape of ear.

MUZZLE
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A, make an
adjustable ring.
1st round 6 sc (dc) in ring. | 6 sts
2nd round Inc in each st around. | 12 sts
3rd round [Inc in each of next 3 sts, 3 sc (dc)] twice.| 18 sts
4th round [Inc in next st, 1 sc (dc)] 3 times, 3 sc (dc), [inc in next st, 1 sc (dc)] 3 times, 3 sc (dc). | 24 sts
5-7th round Sc (dc) around.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

ARMS (MAKE 2)
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A, make an
adjustable ring.
1st round 5 sc (dc) in ring. | 5 sts
2nd round Inc in each st around. | 10 sts
3-11th round Sc (dc) around.
Add toy stuffing. Flatten arm and work next row inserting hook through both layers.
12th round 5 sc (dc) join together.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

LEGS (MAKE 2)
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn B, make an adjustable ring.
1st round 5 sc (dc) in ring. | 5 sts
2nd round Inc in each st around. | 10 sts
3rd round [Inc in next st, 1 sc (dc)] 5 times. | 15 sts
4-5th round Sc (dc) around.
6th round [Dec, 1sc (dc)] 3 times, 6 sc (dc). | 12 sts
7th round Sc (dc) around.
Change to yarn A.
8-11th round Sc (dc) around.
Change to yarn C.
12-13th round Sc (dc) around.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Add toy stuffing to legs.

TAIL
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A, make an adjustable ring.
1st round 6 sc (dc) in ring. | 6 sts
2nd round [Inc in next st, 2 sc (dc)] twice. | 8 sts
3rd round Sc (dc) around.
Flatten tail and work next row inserting hook through both layers.
4th round 4 sc (dc) join together.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

BRACES
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn C, ch 49.
1st row Skip 2 ch from hook, hdc (htr) in each of next 22 ch,
skip 1 ch, sl st in next ch, skip 1 ch, hdc (htr) in each of next 22
ch, ch 2, sl st in same ch as last hdc (htr). | 45 sts
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

TO MAKE UP

-Use sewing pins to check the position of all the pieces before sewing them in place.
– Sew antlers between rounds 2 and 3 on top of head.
– Sew ears two rnds away from antlers.
– Use red thread to stitch nose across rounds 4 and 5 of muzzle, approx 2 sts wide. Then sew muzzle onto head
starting one rnd above eyes, centred between them. Add a little bit of toy stuffing while sewing.
– Sew arms to sides of body, across round 21.
– Sew legs to bottom of body.
– Sew tail to back of body.
– Sew braces to round 28 of body. The ends on the front and the middle of the braces on the back.
