Materials

Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran in Pure Black,
Seville Orange, and Blush Pink (100 yds each)
Crochet 3.5 mm hook (E)
tapestry needle
generic headband

Abbreviations
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
Inc = increase
Inc = increase
F/o = fasten off

Gauge
8sc ~ 3in
Sizing/directions denoted by (XS, S, M, L)

Headband Base
Round 1: With black yarn, ch 2. Sc 6 into the 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Round 2: Sc in each st around. (6)
Continue to sc around until you have a tube that is long enough to fit through the entire headband.
When you reach the other end of the headband, f/o and weave in ends to close around the headband.

Ear Base (make 2)
Round 1: With black yarn, Ch 2. Sc 6 into the 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Round 2: *Sc in next 2 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (8)
Round 3: *Sc in next 3 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (10)
Round 4: *Sc in next 4 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (12)
Round 5: *Sc in next 5 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (14)
Round 6: *Sc in next 6 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (16)
Round 7: *Sc in next 7 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (18)
Round 8: *Sc in next 8 st, sc-inc in next st. Repeat from * once more. (20)
F/o, leave long tail for sewing.

Inner Ear (make 2)
Round 1: With pink yarn, ch 2. Sc 6 into the 2nd ch from hook. (6)
Round 2: Sc-inc in each st around. (12)
F/o and leave tail for sewing. Using your tapestry needle, sew this circle to the middle of the ear base. Flatten the ear base, and sew it to the headband base, spacing each ear out evenly between the ends of the headband – being sure to
center them correctly. Weave in all ends.

Bow (optional)
Round 1: Ch 8. Turn, sc in the next ch and in each ch across. Ch 1, sc underneath each of the sc you just made, until you reach your very first sc. (15)
Rounds 2-18: sc in each st around. (15)
Round 19: flatten your piece so that half of your last row is touching the other half. Sc through both halves to seal the piece and close the hole. (7)
F/o, weave in ends.
Make a seperate chain of 4, without fastening off:
wrap this chain around the center of this rectangle and sl st through the first ch to close the chain around the rectangle. F/o, weave in ends. Use your tapestry needle to sew the bow to the headband on either ear, tilting it slightly. Weave in ends.
