GAUGE (TENSION)
17 sts and 19 rows to a 4in/10cm square worked in single
(double) crochet using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook.

CONSTRUCTION
Head and body are made in one piece starting from the top of the head. Ears, muzzle, arms and legs are sewn to the body. The jacket is made separately

2nd round Inc 5 times. | 10 sts
3rd round Sc (dc) around.
Do not stuff. Flatten the ear and work next row inserting the hook in both layers of the ear.
4th round Sc (dc) around
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

MUZZLE
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A, make an
adjustable ring.

2nd round Inc 6 times. | 12 sts

ARMS (MAKE 2)

Add toy stuffing to the arms until round 10.

Add toy stuffing to the legs until round 11.
15th round Dec 6 times. | 6 sts
Fasten off, leave a tail. Use a tapestry needle to pick up all the front loops from last round and pull tight to close. Leave the remaining tail for sewing.

TAIL
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn A make an adjustable ring.
1st round 5 Sc (dc) in ring. | 5 sts
2nd round Inc 5 times. | 10 sts
3-4th round Sc (dc) around.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Add a little bit of toy stuffing.

JACKET
Using US E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook and yarn B, ch 31.
1st row Skip first ch from hook, 1 sc (dc) in each of next 30 ch, turn. | 30 sts
Next 2 rows create the strings to close the jacket.
2nd row Ch 21, skip first ch from hook, 1 sc (dc) in next 20 ch,
continue on the main part, [inc in next st, 9 sc (dc)] 3 times, turn. | 33 sts
3rd row Ch 21, skip first ch from hook, 1 sc (dc) in next 20 ch,

TO MAKE UP
– Use sewing pins to check the position of all pieces before sewing in place.
– Sew the ears between rounds 7 and 10 of the head.
– Use black embroidery thread to stitch the nose on the muzzle, then sew the muzzle onto the head starting on the same round as the eyes, centred between them. Add a little bit of toy stuffing while sewing.
– Sew the arms to the sides of the body – try on the jacket before sewing them in place.
– Sew the legs to the body.
– Sew the tail to the back of the body
