I want to give you some informations about this pattern ;
Materials Youll Need:
• Green light weight wool or cotton yarn – 15 meter
• Red embroidery yarn – 1 meter
• Yarn used in sample : Vardhman Baby Soft yarn &
Anchor embroidery thread
• Crochet hook:
o 3 mm for the tree (or size needed for yarn)
o 1.75 mm for the star and streamer
• Tapestry needle
• 1 stitch marker
Stitches Used (US)
• ch: chain
• sl st: slip stitch
• sc: single crochet
• hdc: half double crochet
• inc: increase by working 2 hdc in same stitch
• dec: decrease by working 2 hdc together
• blo: back loop only
• flo: front loop only
Things To Keep in Mind
• Ch 1 at the start of each sc row & ch 2 sc at the start of each hdc row
• Made top-down
• End each row with a sl st to join to the 1st st of row
• Total stitch count in the row are mentioned in ( ) at end of row
Start at the top with green yarn
R 1 : 5 hdc in magic ring (5)
R 2 : ch 2, 5 hdc (5)
R 3 : ch 2, 5 inc (10)
R 4 : ch 2, 10 hdc (10)
R 5 : ch 2, (hdc, inc) x 5 (15)
R 6 : ch 2, 15 hdc (15)
R 7 : ch 2, (hdc, hdc, inc) x 5 (20)
R 8 : ch 2, 20 hdc (20)
R 9 : ch 2, (hdc, hdc, hdc, inc) x 5 (25)
R 10 : ch 2, 25 hdc (25) (sl st to join in the fl of the 1st hdc) (add a stitch marker in the bl of the 1st stitch)
R 11 : ch 2, 25 hdc in flo, fasten off (25)
Finishing Touches
• Stitch the star to the top of the tree
• Stitch the streamer around the tree
• Alternatively, you can add small sequence or small beads to the tree to make it more festive
• Remember to weave in all the ends
Join a green yarn to the blo in R10
R 12 : ch 2, (hdc, hdc, hdc, dec) x 5 in blo (20)
R 13 : ch 2, (hdc, hdc, dec) x 5 (15)
R 14 : ch 2, (hdc, dec) x 5 (10)
R 15 : ch 2, 5 dec, fasten off (5) (here we will insert the pencil)
Using a red embroidery yarn, make the star and streamer
Star: ch 1, sc, (ch 2, sc) x 5 in magic ring, fasten off
Streamer : Ch 60, fasten off (make a longer streamer with more chains if you want to wrap it around the tree more)
