Round 1: Create a magic circle with 7 SC
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Hat –
We will be making the hat from the bottom up as a rectangular piece. Once complete, we will sew our ends together to form a circle and close the top to form our hat.
The first row is ribbed using an alternating FPDC and BPDC. Below is a step-by-step photo tutorial to walk you through these stitches.
Hat –
With accent color ch 42
Row 1: DC in the 2nd ch from your hook and in each across, ch 2 and turn (41)
Row 2: *FPDC into the first DC, BPDC into the next*, *rep across, ch 1 and turn (41)
Rows 3-9: HDC across, ch 1 and turn (41)
Fasten off with a long tail for sewing. With your tail fold your hat ends together and sew along the edges to form a circle. Pictures 1 & 2.
Next, we will close the top to form our hat. Using your tapestry needle weave in and out of each stitch across the top. As you gently pull your string it will cinch to close. Secure with a knot on the inside and weave in your ends. Pictures 3 & 4.
Assembly –
1. First, sew the arms onto the body at round 18.
2. Next, sew your pieces of coal centered on the body.
3. Lastly, place your hat onto your snowman
